mindful gift guides for thoughtful shoppers
when i decided to put together a few mindful gift guides for the holiday season, i had a few criteria i used to help guide which products to include:
- avoid Amazon, Wal-Mart, and Target since they don't need our money
- uplift small businesses and B Corps whenever possible
- include lots of options at different price points
- avoid plastic as much as possible
- good reviews for any products i can't personally vouch for
while it was tempting to only include links that would earn me a commission, because i wanted to uplift small businesses (many of which don't have the budget to offer affiliate programs), i decided not to be limited by that.
while i was putting these together, i was especially thinking about using them to give grandparents ideas for gifts that kids + grandkids really want and use. i really do not like having stuff around that i won't use and there is no worse feeling to me than receiving a gift that isn't something we need or like. so i hope these thoughtful gift guides inspire some options that you may not have thought about before!
you can find all of my mindful gift guides at the links below:
- unique gift ideas for mindful modern men
- witchy gift ideas for inner child magic
- practical gift ideas for mindful families
- thoughtful gift ideas for new moms and moms-to-be
i am also a huge fan of gifting experiences, especially to kids! these are also some of my favorite gifts to receive from family members who may otherwise be tempted to buy toys that my kids definitely don't need and we don't want :)
you won't find those ideas in these lists only because they're impossible to link to and depend on where you're located!
low-consumption gift ideas for kids and families:
- museum memberships
- gift certificates to your local movie theater
- season passes to theater, conservatories, nature centers, etc.
- concert tickets
- classes or workshops (art, cooking, or perhaps a new craft!)
